Here is a post from one of our graduate students that has been volunteering with us for the last three months. He has really been touched by what God is doing and Karen and I have really seen the people in this area grow due to Leonel, Piet and Peter reaching out to them. Enjoy his update.
My Farm Lunch box
My desire to share this story has been stirred by an eminent presence of victory being so felt around us. This has become so through countless prayers whispered by many of you. And I admit that these prayers are continually preparing us to be a joy that so enlightens, guides, and ignite the love for Jesus in us and the people we preach to.
About six weeks ago, a ministry to almost 100 female farm workers was birthed. We call it a ministry to our 'mothers'. They are working for one employer at two different plots. I had to talk to the owner for permission and he agreed. I, and Piet enjoy the privilege of leading the meetings we have with them. The ministry has become so fulfilling and purposeful, that each day has its own to learn and grow, and have Christ seen through us. We do minister 4 times a week (Monday to Thursday) at 1pm for 30 minutes. As I teach in some bible studies there, I look intently into their eyes to see the joy of a new life found in Christ. That joy I may say, exceeds the joy 'natural news' may bring. God's mercies as seen in these surpasses the mercies of a mortal man and His deliverance differs form the power of temporal death (1 Cor.15:55), which is gone before the pain is solely felt.
This ministry started on a doubtful peak. On its inception, interest was less but with progress many embraced the gospel with arms of faith to a new world of change. Our first teachings were on the Great Commandment; to love the Lord, and to love His people in the same given altitude of grace we love ourselves. And the coming weeks had teachings on forgiveness, prayer, God's will, eternal inheritance, salvation, grace, righteousness, identity and relevancy in Christ, faith, baptism(Water and Holy Spirit), Supernatural life within, Christ as a Friend, and an exhaustive study of 1 John 1-2. When we started, we would go for ministry there twice (Tuesdays and Thursdays), but with an increase in needs, I then decided we would do it four times a week. It could not have entered into our hearts to conceive such works of grace until God unlocked His good pleasure concerning this ministry. The glad message of the Gospel was unheard and unlooked for, yet God piercing through the dark side of lost hearts so brought an inexpressible joy in them. And I get the privilege of hearing countless testimonies of what God has done for them. One lady shared of her life which formerly exemplified dishonor to God and oneself, now being lived for the glory of the King.
As the ministry grew, we were nudged to present/ express our initial desire to buy Bibles in vernacular languages for them. We appreciate Teen Missions for their generous support in purchasing Bibles for us. Many of these now own a Bible for the first time in their lives.......Praise the Lord! We are now looking forward into helping them discover more of the glorious riches found in Christ. I believe, these hard working hands will treasure a Word so loving yearning to live inside them. In my honesty, I have never seen people so willing to know more as these 'mothers', ever awaiting week after week, to hear from the Lord. On a Saturday(16/11/13), I gave a personal word to a lady during a celebration service we were hosting at our base. As words were still coming, she exclaimed,'That's true servant of God, please pray for me.' On the next day, as I visited, she and another lady friend of hers were standing witnessing to people on a road side. I was thrilled and exuberant at such courage of preaching at such an infant stage. In reality, nobody is too young to witness nor too old to. My theology was tumbled at such a Holy Spirit transformation. We have baptized some of them and we are still waiting for others who asked me to baptize them.
One thing i'm sure of, is that God is stirring a desire in me to reach more people with the Gospel. My journey has been amazing and 'more is more' in us through Christ. Now I see that our sufficient can never be in us but in Him who so called us. The ladies are growing in loving God and His people. I'm sure there is a readiness for great revival being born in the plots too. We pray continually unto God to raise people to reach out out to place very secluded and solitary. God bless you

“But unto you who revere and worshipfully fear My name shall the sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings and His beams, and you shall go forth and gambol like calves(released)from the stall and leap for joy.” Malachi 4:2 (Amp)
Karen and I have spent over $300 of our personal funds to make sure these ladies have the Bible in their own language. If you would like to help and see others get a Bible in their hands, click on the donate tab and you will see a place where you can donate specifically to Bibles. We continually have people asking for Bibles. Thanks you for standing with us and our students as we touch the lives of those living in darkness. God Bless. Jason and Karen
